I know I thought 2006 would find me posting more - yet I didn't realize that it meant that I would be praying from February until May about a possible BIG move!
As of July 15th, 2006 I will no longer be employed by the church I currently work at. After much thought and prayer and counsel from wise friends, I have accepted a position at a church in Michigan.
I wish I could go into the details of what God has done to shift my heart from the place I have been for the last 20 years - email me privately if you want to know more (if anyone really reads this that is) about what God has done.
Suffice it to say that I am excited about the NEW possibilities in a NEW part of the country to try some NEW ways to minister to Students and Children and their families!

End of the month LOVE
Ten days since my last post. I am going to get better at this blogging thing. I notice that others either draw from other blogs and the news that is current - or they are so busy writing about their own lives that they have no need for those other things.
I am somewhat confused as to which I would like this blog to be. There are parts of my heart that want to have a place to journal that is personal and inspiring to read. There are other parts that want to be the reporter/comentator of relevant news. I really am more of a sponge - who takes in way more than I can squeeze out.
The LOVE of the end of the month is that basketball at HCC is coming to a close. We have had exitement and challenges - all of which have made for fun times! Baseball practice also started last Saturday. We have 12 teams (6 baseball/6 softball) and means 144 players and their families to talk with this day! I pray that God gives me words of encouragement and joy so that LOVE will be the thing talked about here at the end of February 2006!

LOVE of a different kind
My last post had to do with "workout love" and I told you that I have been trying in 2006 to workout more and be sore less. Just when I feel like I am getting in a groove - I have pulled a muscle near my groin area and now have had about a week of not running. I don't LOVE being hurt!
I was thinking about health - and a couple things have occured to spur my thinking. One- my wife bought me a pillow for valentines day. Some of you might think this is a "different" present - but mine to her was a scale that measures your body fat along with your weight. I guess when you get into your 40's this is love of a "different" kind. Jann is hoping I will sleep better - and I knew she wanted to measure how to get more fit this year.
Two- I think I have come to terms with my age and may even try to play basketball in a men's league this spring, after a few years of not wanting to play due to not being able to be as competitive as I was in my teens and early twenties. I will let you know how it goes!

Workout Love
I can't believe I am more consistant in my workouts this last two weeks. If only I could sleep through the night...
Two posts in three days - is something new coming?

The month of LOVE
I haven't posted in a while. Lots has happened in the last couple months. I have continued to settle into my new role in Sports (I don't know if I LOVE it though). I have seen some amazing things happen in the lives of those coaches who have a desire to serve our community and sports organization by influencing kids. (That I do LOVE)
I have watched my wife settle into a new job at a middle school and excel like most knew she would. (I LOVE seeing her get excited about this new career. She is at her best when encouraged and LOVED) I have prayed that our girls would continue to stay focused on school during this season of their life. (I LOVE that they are concerned that education is important to their future).
This blog probably needs some more definition so that I would feel more like posting to it. I lurk on a number of other blogs and have been blessed by the writing efforts of others. I wonder if in the early part of the 21st century we will still need the written word in the same way that we have learned to "podcast" events of our life. I hope this month I will blog with the theme of "LOVE" and get more ideas on how to make this helpful to myself and others!
